Meet Tim Woodward: A Relationship-First Leader Stepping Into Quincy’s Future

3/18/2026

There’s something refreshing about talking with Tim Woodward. No buzzwords. No overcomplication. Just a steady, grounded perspective shaped by experience, family, and a deep respect for the communities he serves.

After two years with Prairie State Bank & Trust, Tim has stepped into a new role as Market President in Quincy—bringing with him a philosophy that feels both familiar and increasingly rare: relationships first, always.

A Life That Stays Close to What Matters

Outside of the office, Tim keeps things simple—and intentionally so.

“I love spending time with my wife, Megan, and our daughter, Georgia,” he says. “We’re usually on the go—whether that’s local high school games, grabbing dinner somewhere, or getting out on a golf course when I can.”

Like many parents, he’s learned that life doesn’t slow down—it just shifts priorities.

And in one of his more relatable admissions, he laughs:
“I’m still competitive… but I never thought I’d be the guy letting my five-year-old win. That’s been a surprise—even to me.”

Leadership Built on Responsibility, Not Title

Ask Tim what has shaped his leadership style, and he doesn’t point to a single mentor or moment.

Instead, he points to the weight of the role itself.

“You have the opportunity to give sound advice and help people achieve major life goals—buying a home, growing a business, sustaining a family operation,” he explains. “There’s a level of trust people place in you. That responsibility stays with you.”

It’s a mindset that traces back to his own upbringing.

“My parents ran a local business,” he shares. “I’ve seen firsthand how personal that work is for a family. Being able to support people like that—and play even a small role in their success—that’s what drives me.”

The Foundation of Trust: Consistency Over Time

In a world where banking often feels transactional, Tim's approach is anything but.

“Consistency and honesty,” he says without hesitation. “People want to know they can count on you—not just when things are easy, but when decisions are more challenging.”

It’s not flashy. It’s not new. But it works.

“Being transparent, following through, and keeping their best interests at the center—that’s what builds trust over time.

Bringing Back What Banking Was Meant to Be

Tim is quick to acknowledge how much the industry has changed—but he’s even more focused on what shouldn’t be lost along the way.

“Community banking is the bedrock of local communities,” he says. “As things have shifted toward larger institutions and digital-only experiences, some of that personal connection has been lost.”

What excites him now is the opportunity to bring it back.

“Customers aren’t just accounts. They’re people you know, people you support."

A New Chapter—Built Locally, On Purpose

His move into the Quincy market wasn't by chance or rushed-it was intentional.

“What excites me most is the opportunity to build something meaningful at the local level,” Tim says. “We’re focused on accessibility, responsiveness, and real relationships—and we want people to feel that difference right away.”

It’s not about scale. It’s about substance.

Why Quincy—and Why Now

While Tim is careful not to give too much away, his enthusiasm for Quincy is unmistakable.

“West Central Illinois has a strong sense of community and a lot of momentum,” he says. “I’m excited to be part of that growth and to support the individuals and businesses driving it forward.”

And if there’s one shift he believes people will notice?

“A more personal, responsive banking experience. Decisions made with a real understanding of the local market—not from a distance.”

The ‘Best of Both Worlds’ Approach

At the heart of what Tim is building is a balance many customers have been looking for—but rarely find.

“We’re small enough to know you on a personal level,” he explains, “but we also have the knowledge, technology, and resources you’d expect from a larger institution.”

It’s a model that doesn’t force customers to choose between convenience and connection.

Looking Ahead: A Quiet Confidence

Ask Tim what he'd say to the Quincy community right now, and his answer is simple-but telling.

“We’re here to be a true partner,” he says. “Whether you’re starting something new, growing, or planning for the future—we want to be a resource you can rely on every step of the way.”

And as for what’s coming next?

He pauses—just slightly.

Enough to hint that this is only the beginning.

A Leader to Watch—and a Story Just Getting Started

Tim Woodward isn’t trying to reinvent banking.

He’s bringing it back to what it was always meant to be.

And in a place like Quincy, that might be exactly what people have been waiting for.
